Mountain Biking in Sproul State Forest
The only areas closed to bicycles are the Chuck Keiper Trail, Donut Hole Trail, and any trails posted closed.
The Eagleton Mine Camp Shared Use Trail consists of 21 miles of easy-to-difficult trails designed specifically for mountain bikers.
Riders will find some challenging slopes and riding surfaces, but relatively little single-track technical riding is available.
Bicycle tour riding is very scenic on routes 120 and 144.
Electric Bike (E-bike) Use
E-bikes are permitted on approved mountain bike trails and roads, provided they meet all the following standards:
- Weigh no more than 100 pounds
- Do not exceed 20 miles-per-hour using the motor
- Have motors that do not exceed 750 watts
- Have fully functional, operable pedals
