Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree Facilitators

Thank you for being a Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree (PA PLT) facilitator!

You are part of a team of over 150 Project Learning Tree facilitators across Pennsylvania who serve as local contacts for education and training for schools, youth organizations, non-formal educators, and more.

Facilitator Roles and Responsibilities

To stay current as a Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree facilitator, you are expected to:

Plan and conduct or assist with a minimum of four educator workshops every four years, and at least one of these workshops must be a Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree workshop
Promote Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree throughout your region
Explain Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree to groups and educators and promote workshops

DCNR encourages facilitators to team up with other facilitators and resource specialists when providing trainings.

Planning a Workshop

When planning a Pennsylvania Project Learning Tree workshop, there are important things to consider.

Workshop Checklist

Facilitators can create a checklist to keep planning organized:

Determine workshop type
Determine target audience
Determine location, date, and ask another facilitator to help
Determine required length and activities
Develop workshop agenda
Develop marketing plan to reach target audience
Complete and submit PA PLT workshop proposal form and agenda, requesting materials at least four weeks in advance

After the Workshop

Following each workshop, facilitators should:

Organize the participant evaluations and information forms
Complete and include a workshop cover sheet and final agenda
Mail or email these forms
Return all unused guides and materials

If you are interested in becoming a facilitator, please contact state coordinator, Colleen Campion, for an application. Facilitator training is a two-day commitment and is based on need.
